Dear Vincentian Community and Family,
As we transition from winter to spring, and from the reflective Lenten season to the rebirth of Easter, it is a natural time to welcome hopefulness into our hearts. One faithful writer describes Easter as “a way to renew daily hope.” In this way, Easter is not just a day or a season, but a spirit
of hope that remains within us every day of the year.
Will you decide, today, to be that spirit of hope for those served by Vincentian?
Your gift today will help us continue our mission of fearless compassion. Vincentian, a local nonprofit dedicated to serving the most vulnerable, has persevered in fulfilling our mission in the face of significant financial adversity and scarce resources. People in our community need us; and we are here to answer that call. We have faith that benefactors like you will continue to step up and step in to support the people we serve, because it takes all of us contributing together to meet the unmet needs of our neighbors.
Last year, Vincentian provided more than $11 million in unreimbursed care to Pittsburgh-area seniors who rely on government assistance as their only means to pay. We did this, and continue to do this, because care needs don’t wait for the dollars to arrive.
Despite the headwinds we face, Vincentian remains unwavering in our commitment to caring for not only current, but also for future generations. This commitment is embodied by actions that reflect our heritage, such as continuing to care benevolently for those whose resources have been depleted. It is also reflected in actions taken to preserve our legacy, including initiating strategic master planning across all of our campuses through lenses of holistic wellness, sustainability, and intergenerational community-building.
But we can’t do any of this alone. We’ve never done it alone. Our founding Sisters acted boldly 99 years ago, opening a small cottage in McCandless dedicated to delivering compassionate care, meeting the unmet needs within the Pittsburgh community. Through a world war, the birth of the digital age, and, yes, more than one global pandemic, we’ve continued their visionary ideals and are committed to honoring their legacy…with your help.
Thank you for considering a gift to Vincentian. May the season and spirit of hopefulness reawaken your awareness and connection to those closest to you, to those around you, and those who are unknown to you but who will feel the full impact of your generosity.
Sincerely,
Dean Owrey
President & CEO
P.S.: By giving to Vincentian today, you help ensure that the renewal of daily hope that humbly began nearly a century ago continue for generations to come. Thank you for your support.
